Agreed, if you cant get the sound to work RMA it, once there is one problem on a mobo it is not long before you will have other problems, IMO atleast. If you uninstalled audio software without restarting your PC, restart now then run this setup again.
I’m not sure if this is related but I’m also using Microsoft Update. Initially when I tried to install the sound driver I got the error message: The update keeps failing on the Windows Security update KB Could this be a hardware issue?

The audio driver files do not support your computer hardware. If you uninstalled audio software without restarting your PC, restart now then run this setup again After reading a forum post I found on google I tried to install the driver through the Device Manager.
Any idea where I could find other versions of the driver? That might work for you.
I’d actually consider calling up Asus and possibly even doing a RMA if the onboard sound doesn’t work. I got the new KB installed item listed, restarted and unfortunately no audio driver was autodetected. I edited out ausio other line after checking Asus’ website. If I try a search with the Add New Hardware wizard, it doesn’t find any new hardware either.
I’m not sure if this is also related. I didn’t audil after installing the included driver. K88n Update doesn’t list any driver updates unfortunately, but I’ll check again.
